Project Marmalade: 

​  Pegasus Aircycle is a small, light vertical takeoff and landing capable delta wing aircraft.  It is designed to transport a single pilot beyond 20 miles, land at unprepared locations and exhibit balanced control in all flight regimes. ​

​  ​  The Aircycle has a roll cage type body which houses a Hover-Jet Vectored Thrust Compressor.  The Hover-Jet is a dual ducted fan propulsion system powered by a gasoline engine.  The compressor has ducting from the fans to directional thrust nozzles at four points about the craft.  This gives the Hover-Jet the ability to position the nozzles down for vertical flight or rearward for forward flight.  

​ The Aircycle measures at 14 ft. from tip to tail and 9 ft. from wing tip to wing tip.  It has a 7 ft. canard.  It stands little over 6 ft.  It weighs in at 253 lbs. - dry and 550 lbs - max load.  Powered by a internal combustions engine the Aircycle has a 5 gal. fuel tank. Flown by a simple set of controls the responsive Aircycle performs with a standardized mix of traditional flight maneuvers and hovering flight capabilities.

 I want to build aircraft that seasoned pilots will feel comfortable operating and novice pilots will not be overwhelmed by learning.  I want the familiarity of traditional operational controls with simple flight commands that promote quick proficiency.  An enjoyable safe flying experience is the goal
